Wunderbares authentisches Cottage, einfach eingerichtet und gut geeignet für eine ruhige Auszeit.

Das einfache authentische Häuschen liegt direkt hinter dem Deich an der Westerschelde. Wie beschrieben ist es ein einfaches Häuschen, ursprünglich mit zwei Zimmern unten und zwei Schlafzimmern oben. Im kleinen Anbau befindet sich die Toilette mit der Dusche und ein kleiner Allzwegraum mit Waschmaschine und Trockner. Der Garten ist sehr groß und die Terasse Richtung Süden sehr warm und sonnig. Aufgrund unseres Urlaubs in der Sommerzeit haben wir die Kachelöfen nicht gebraucht. Wir gehen davon aus, dass sie wenig Heizleistung haben und im Herbst-Winter-Frühling, je nach Witterung warme Kleidung angesagt ist. Der Vermieter ist total nett und reagiert sofort auf Fragen. Im Vorfeld hat er uns eine sehr ausführliche Beschreibung des Hauses und der Umgebung zukommen lassen. Was sehr Hilfreich war.

− Es war alles bestens. Top wäre noch gewesen, wenn es für den Pizzaofen Holz gegeben hätte. Ist aber kein Problem, wir haben dann einfach in Hulst welches vom Baumarkt geholt. Von den Beschriebenen Fahrrädern waren nur zwei fahrtüchtig.

Really nice house with garden, that is ideal for a weekend trip. It is quite rustic but has everything you need and the house matches its description and how it is advertised. Its especially nice when the sun is out!

No terrace with sea view !!!BLACK MOLD EVERYWHERE!!! No hot tub !!!BLACK MOLD EVERYWHERE!!! Broken furniture !!!UNFRIENDLY AND DECEIVING OWNER!!! When we arrived after a grueling nine-hour drive with our two young children, we found the house freezing—just 10°C inside. The heating was not functioning, and there was no firewood for the fireplaces. I had to figure out how to turn on the central heating myself, as the owner had provided no instructions. None of this had been mentioned in the advertisement or the pre-arrival communication, making the owner’s omissions feel deliberately misleading. The house had an unusual thermostat that not only capped the maximum temperature but also restricted the duration the central heating could stay active. As a result, I had to reactivate the heating manually every hour. This was, of course, impossible during the night, leaving the house unbearably cold. The bathroom, in particular, felt as if it had the same temperature as the outdoors. To make matters worse, I later discovered that the heating system could be controlled remotely via a smartphone app. The owner had falsely claimed he was unable to turn it on before our arrival—despite knowing we were traveling with young children. The listing also falsely advertised amenities. It mentioned a hot tub, which did not exist, and two fireplaces—one of which was out of order. For the remaining fireplace, we were expected to source firewood ourselves. This wouldn’t have been an issue if the heating had functioned properly. However, by far the worst aspect of this rental was the black mold—present in nearly every room, including right next to one of our children’s beds. Some walls were completely covered in mold but had been deceptively hidden behind wooden panels. The smell was unmistakable.
