Casa accogliente, molto pulita, in una zona tranquilla. Ideale per riposare e vivere una vera esperienza locale. La proprietaria gentilissima ci ha fatto sentire a casa.

Nulla, tutto perfetto!

A super friendly traditionally Portuguese hidden away gem

9.0

What a find! If you want tucked away quiet with the friendliest welcome ever (including her three VERY docile and friendly dogs who give you space but if you love them as I do, they're happy to hang around for ear scratches), then this is the place. Set on the upper edges of the village of Salir, the accommodation is huge and Paula has thought of everything. She even has a little 'shop' (with honesty box) for beers, crisps etc but there is a huge (free) choice of teas, coffees, milk, cereals, fruit and even the essential cooking ingredients if you want to use the full kitchen. Bread is supplied daily. Having a separate sitting room really makes you feel at home and there's a little private terrace off the bedroom with fab views over the valley. The bed was really comfy and the water super hot. Nothing that bothered me at all, but maybe useful to know... The final bit of cobbled road up to the property is very steep and a bit narrow so practice your hill-starts as you have to open the metal gates to let yourself into the courtyard. The same when you leave. There's plenty of space for turning around once outside the annexe. It's a VERY secure place to stay. The annexe is within the same courtyard as Paula's house - again, not a problem at all as it's very private inside, but just to manage expectations if you think it sits on its own. I loved the place and would highly recommend it if you want somewhere beautifully quirky and traditionally Portuguese to stay. Paula's collection of art and travel related items on the walls is worth the visit alone. And there's a piano!!

Superb

The most warm and welcoming host. After a long day of hiking we felt right at home. All restaurants were closed the night we arrived. But the hosts helped us out in the most generous way, thanks again.

Pleasant

6.0

The room was clean, and comfortable. But all the grounds leading to it and around it were very littered and messy. The town itself had no restaurants or anything to offer a tourist. Locals were very unfriendly. All that being said, Paula, her son and her sweet dogs were very nice and generous. I slept very well.

Incredible place for a cozy stay

10.0

Amazing stay! Perfect place for a cozy evening while it was cold and rainy outside. The house is really well renovated, the bed couldn't be more comfy. All the details of the house both the decoration and at the comfort level were very appreciated. We only wished we were staying longer!
