Wonderful accommodation in a great setting
10.0Our second stay at Funny Farm Shire was just as good as the first one. This time we stayed in the 2 bedroomed house which is exceptional. The fenced garden is large and perfect for our dogs. The house is spacious and full of quirky features. It feels that there is always something new to see. The building is great and I loved the big wooden doors and all the bespoke wooden features. The views are great and it is wonderful to have a walking trail on the premises. We enjoyed exploring all the paths, eg Gollums Way, Elf Path, Lonely Mountain Trail etc. The house is equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Tessa and Russel are great hosts. We will certainly visit again.

8.0Une vraie maison de hobbit. La construction en terre est extraordinaire. Isolation thermique et phonique, avec des matériaux naturels et le confort d'une habitation moderne. On y dort très bien. Aucun angle dans l'habitation, tout est fait à la main. Une expérience hors du temps. La salle de bain est très bien équipée. Les hôtes sont disponibles, donnent des indications et dorment dans une autre maison de hobbit sur place. Les chevaux sont heureux de leur vie en liberté dans la propriété. On peut les approcher sans problème. L'entrée du parc et très proche.
− L'accès se fait par une route en gravillons. Le mieux est d'utiliser les coordonnées GPS pour éviter de se perdre. Prendre tout le nécessaire pour barbecue et cuisine sur place car pas de possibilité d'aller faire des courses. Attention à l'eau qui se fait par récupération d'eau de pluie, comme dans beaucoup d'endroits isolés. L'hôte nous remet à l'arrivée 5 litres d'eau filtrée, mais je conseille d'acheter en plus des packs d'eau de source pour les estomacs fragiles.
