To Ana, our host, I would love to keep your lovely home a secret but that would not be fair to you. What an unexpected, beautiful haven you offered to both the couple we traveled with and to my husband and me. You've done an amazing job renovating your grandmother's home so that it provides the comforts many travelers expect while maintaining its old-world charm. We opted to reserve the entire home, so we had access to the full kitchen and enjoyed amazing views of the mountains and night sky on both levels from the inside and from the outside patio and upper deck. Sobreira Formosa is a small village that made us feel like we were stepping into yesterday. So, thanks, Ana, for suggesting beforehand that we bring food/libations for dinner and breakfast as there isn't easy access to restaurants and markets in the area. This was a "layover" stop for us on our way to the Douro Valley. Our only regret is that we didn't have time to spend another night or two in this special spot.

− Not a complaint, just a heads up: the streets of Sobreira Formosa are very narrow and steep in places. Watch the side view mirrors on your vehicle!!

Beautiful rustic house, amazing view from the large balcony. Surrounded by countryside, in a very quaint village. Ana did so much to welcome us and provided olive oil, honey and the best bit was to find home made bread hanging in a bag on our door handle after an evening out. The house was spotless, everything supplied in the kitchen. The lower glass enclosed terrace was warming on sunny but cool days and evenings. The upper balcony was a real sun trap and we made use of the jacuzzi and sun loungers. We hired a tiny car and were able to explore the beautiful area, finding restaurants and view points. The area is full of walks and hiking trails for all. Highly recommend this property for a few days of peace and relaxation.

É uma casa espetacular para relaxar com a vista da serra. A combinação do jacuzzi com a paisagem proporciona um belo momento de relaxamento e privacidade. É um lugar muito silencioso e pacífico. Tanto a cozinha como as casas de banho ( principalmente a do andar de cima) estão super bem equipadas e os quartos e as zonas de estar são ambos bastante confortáveis e aconchegantes. O espaço estava limpo e higienizado.
