Amber who owns the B & B is the Hostess with the Mostess

10.0

The location was perfect right in the town centre. We had a 3 night stay for the June long weekend to attend the Roam festival. Amber's local knowledge of the area is fantastic, her tips of where to go and visit was spot on. The B & B she runs is Amazing, all the special touches make it so memorable. Complimentary wine and cheese platter to enjoy. The home cooked breakfast every morning, was delicious, with all local ingredients used, along with her general chatter makes it so special. The rooms are cosy and perfectly decorated to suit the Region. The premises were previously a bank. The accommodation is perfect for 2 couples wanting to explore the area. Thank you for your hospitality Amber x

The host was extremely lovely and made the stay very enjoyable and relaxing. Her culinary skills were second to none with breakfast being a highlight of our stay, recommend trying the pancakes (and waffles according to my partner). The accommodation was very clean and beautifully presented. The speakeasy was a favourite part adding some extra uniqueness to the experience. I would and have already happily recommended this accommodation to any family and friends.

The stay was almost perfect with only slight constructive criticism being that the Internet was difficult to stream on and the pressure from the shower head fell short of our personal preference.

Excellent

Perhaps tea and coffee in the room rather than on the communal balcony

Totally worth staying here.

The local is central yet quiet. The old bank is luxuriously homey and the host Amber is one of the most friendly and easy going I have ever stayed with. There are 2 king rooms with ensuite upstairs with a delightful back covered balcony with a lovely view. Great place to have an evening drink. Down stairs is the lounge/ dining area with fire place, Chesterfields and lots of lovely touches. Great record collection that we were encouraged to use (and did) . We stayed 2 nights and had the place to ourselves selves the first night. We asked our friends to pop in for a night cap and cheese platter - ( generously provided by host) which really topped off the excellent wedding we had attended that evening. Another couple were staying the next night - but we hardly saw or heard a thing. Plenty of room to stay in or out of each other’s way. The amazing value is particularly with the breakfast. Made to order, lots of choice including the time you want it. It was really delicious and generous. Freshly squeezed OJ, eggs from the hens in the garden, bacon, mushrooms, sweet roasted tomatoes, local sausages and relish. Choices aplenty so we’ll be back to try more. Honestly just easy and lovely.

Nothing we were entirely satisfied.

Amberesque B&B is a captivating portal to Rutherglen's essence, blending history, genuine hospitality, and hidden gems in an innovative heritage-meets-heartfelt luxury experience. Host Amber shines with her outstanding, authentic service—warm smiles and engaging conversations make you feel truly at home. Unwind in the cozy lounge with an old record player and curated vinyl selection, evoking a nostalgic time capsule that enhances the unique ambiance—perhaps while enjoying a cheeky Muscat. Outside, a tranquil garden oasis overlooked by seating in the Balcony room is perfect for morning coffee or evening wine. Ideally located—walking distance to fantastic restaurants and a short drive to renowned wineries—Amberesque encourages exploring the region's vibrant offerings while supporting the local community. Don't miss the amazing cheese and wine platter provided in the Balcony room to enjoy during your stay. A standout retreat that exemplifies tourism excellence; highly recommended!
