Shame we didn't get the breakfast previous guests raced on about!
3.0Our welcome was very pleasant, we were afforded an early check in which we were very grateful for as we had two small children and traveled 2.5 hours to come to the beach
− The room, as I expected from reviews was very tired and in desperate need of an upgrade. It wasn't particularly clean either but I always travel with cleaving wipes so I gave it a quick once over. The thing that made me pick this accommodation was the great reviews about the breakfast! Now I wish I could say the breakfast was great but we didn't even get to taste it. We waited half an hour to be served at all and when I asked for some coffee, I was told that the staff member was on her own and I will have to wait. I appreciate that she was on her own but having to wait 30 mins and still not even being offered a hot drink is not ideal. Especially when breakfast is only served from 8.30-9.30. So by 9am, my children had a bowl of cereal each and some juice from the self-serve area but we had nothing at all. Maybe offering rounds of toast whilst people wait to be served. We decided to go to Gregg's, got food and ate it, returned and other guests were still waiting for food. The location is great and everything is a couple of mins walk away and £100 would be a steal if we had received the breakfast. I don't usually like to make such negative comments but I was very disappointed with this particular aspect of our trip and felt that it needed to be said so that others have a more positive experience. I have tried to contact them directly via multiple avenues and have not received a response at all.
ok for weekend but not for full week
6.0needed to be bit warmer
− climbing stairs to room
Ideal for a few days away. Thank you
8.0Friendly and helpful staff. Location, near the town and Queen’s Park . Comfortable. Small fridge was a bonus . Lovely breakfast
− There was quite a few steps to the loft room , but they were not steep . A bigger size bottom sheet would have been ideal
Not going back
4.0The people
− It was dirty
Enjoyable break away from home. Our second visit.
8.0Breakfast was great. Plenty of choice well cooked and presented.
− Bathroom needed a bit of attention. Extractor fan was squeaking too noisily to use. Wash basin hot tap extremely stiff to turn. Bathroom door squeaked badly. Bathroom floorboards creaked noisily. Using bathroom at night impossible without waking up the other person.
