This short break doubled as a belated minimoon and celebration of our first anniversary, perfectly.
9.0We were hoping for a quiet getaway in a secluded area, and we got it. The scenery was spectacular and the owners were friendly and helpful and had useful local knowledge. Even Max the dog was very friendly. The room was comfortable and clean, and the breakfasts were great.
− This place ticked all the boxes for us, so I can't think of anything that we didn't like. Even the weather was perfect for our needs.

10.0Jacqui is one of the kindest souls I've ever met and it spills into every aspect of the Crown and Anchor. The rooms are massive and gorgeous, she makes the biggest and best breakfasts every morning. Couldn't ask for a better stay or a better place to explore the south west!

Great B&B in lovely countryside.
8.0Jacqui and John were lovely, nothing was too much trouble. They gave us advice on places of interest. Breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked to order, with an extensive menu.
− Location was lovely and very peaceful but a bit too far from anywhere for evening meals. Approx 6 miles to Kirkcudbright, this was the nearest option.

10.0Only stayed 3 nights, but loved every minute. Jacqueline and John were brilliant hosts ( Max, the very friendly little dog, is a star). The room was really nice, the bed was so comfortable, right up there. The breakfast was what I call a proper setter upper, plenty of it and no short cuts. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat, when the rush hour is a tractor a van and a car, what's not to love?
