Albert the owner and everyone he works with are so kind, and make adventuring on Lamu Island so simple. He provides a map and reviews of restaurants, provides advice, and schedules activities. My bed was comfortable and my room, while basic, was exactly as expected from photos and provided exactly what was needed for a budget stay on Lamu.

The host Arnold is incredibly helpful ; nice breakfast on the terrace as well. The rooms are quite simple but you got everything you need !

A truly special way to see Lamu!

Staying at JamboHouse completely shaped our Lamu trip in the best way! It was neat staying in old town, and Arnold gave us extremely thoughtful recommendations for restaurants and activities. The fresh breakfast was a great start to the day as well. We ended up doing several of the activities Arnold arranged. Incredible value for what you pay. If considering a stay in Lamu Old Town, remember it's a UNESCO world heritage site with homes as old as the 16th century, so infrastructure thus can be lacking in a modern sense - and that's actually part of the charm in our opinion. We were 5-10 minute walk from the best (and at the same time most affordable) restaurants on the island. Staying here affords vibrant culture, a charming local vibe (we had so many conversations in the street), and good connection to Lamu.

− Between the heat and the noise from outside, it was a bit hard to sleep. Otherwise, everything was perfect.

Arnold was super helpful and the property was in a very easy to get to location. Arnold helped us with so many things and have us plenty of good recommendations. The place felt super friendly and overall we had an amazing time!! Would definitely recommend for budget travellers.

Arnold gives excellent Lamu information, helps book Dhow trips ( my favourite!) and more. Breakfast is lovely, endless coffee.

Perfect stay in Lamu - 100% recommended!

Arnold is a great host, he loves what he does and made our stay perfect. The house is in Lamu Town, some minutes walking from the ferry and perfect for a visit of the village. We've been picked at the airport and guided to the house, which was great. Arnold provides all the information you might need - what to visit and good places to eat. He organised a tour to the Takwa Ruins for a fair price, which we enjoyed a lot. Breakfast is amazing, with options varying from different egg dishes to (banana) pancakes and fried vegetables. There's always a fresh juice, fruits, a hot drink and toast and it's served on the terrace, where we also spent some hours in the afternoon/evening. The rooms are clean and equipped with fans, we had everything we needed.
