10.0Amazing stay! The B&B was amazing, and the people were truly lovely and welcoming. The breakfast was really tasty, and I felt at home even though it was one of my very few times visiting Wales. The warm hospitality made the experience extra special. I’ll definitely be visiting again - highly recommended!
Mixed feelings!
4.0I have been putting off reviewing this stay as it was a mixed bag! The farmer who owns this is a lovely man, and we enjoyed our conversations and the helpful ease with which he was happy to let us walk around his land. It's in the hills very near Machynleth, so very convenient if you want to be near the town , but have a country feel. The views from there were gorgeous. And so lovely to see newborn lambs outside in the morning, the sheep dogs , and cattle. The house was clean and there was a little fridge in our room.
− I was traveling with a girlfriend, so we wanted the room with single beds. The other rooms with double beds looked a great deal more spacious and comfortable. The single beds were narrow and cheap mattresses, I spent much of the night fighting to keep the covers from falling off. The bathroom was right next door, but the heated towel rail was in the passage. Warm passage, freezing bathroom! In the morning there was no hot water, I had a meeting to get off to, and it took me along time searching for someone to organize a hot shower. There was no one prepping breakfast, and our lovely farmer was out lambing. I discovered the lady who makes the breakfast didn't live there. She appeared 20 mins before a full cooked breakfast was to be served. I am vegetarian, so I can't comment on the quality of the meat served, but mine was dreary. The last thing I would like to point out was there was dog mess on the grass around the farm house everywhere on two sides of it. I hate giving bad revues, and the pluses above really were very lovely. Should you book a double room, I think there would be no problem with nice bathrooms, hot water and comfortable beds. We just got the short straw! I would advise against booking the singles room!!
