Very cordial welcome flowed into the peaceful, homely atmosphere. Fascinating hosts whose conversation was such that it was difficult to believe we had just met!

Thank you Loren and Ray for a lovely couple of nights at your delightful Hethersett lodge B&B. Extremely glad I spotted your accommodation online - incredibly quiet location and delicious breakfast. Ray and Loren are such welcoming and friendly owners - I enjoyed my chats with you both and if I am in the Norwich area again, would stay with you. The breakfast you provide was perfect - such a large selection to choose from - home from home. Many thanks for making me so welcome and my stay such a pleasant and happy one. Highly recommend.

Stayed here in May with my family including 2 young kids. Separate room for the kids was great, wide range of choices for breakfast, good location and free off road parking. They were happy to accommodate our later arrival and give directions when we couldn't find them.

Fantastic hosts, but would benefit from a little modernisation

The owners, a very interesting couple, are the thing that sell the property for me! Ray and Loren are so kind and welcoming, you’re made to feel like a member of the family as soon as you set foot through the door. The location is very quiet, has easy parking, and is fabulous for visiting Norwich and the surrounding area. There are a few handy amenities in walking distance of the property such as a small Tesco and pubs which serve food. The family suite was perfectly laid out for one night for my son and I, with comfy beds and a great shower. We were made to feel very welcome at breakfast, and enjoyed hearing about Ray and Loren’s adventures.

− Ray and Loren are so lovely we feel bad mentioning this, but as others have said the decor is a bit dated and there was a musty smell I couldn’t place, however everything appeared very clean, there wasnt a speck of dust anywhere. The TV and basic Sky set up again was pretty old fashioned, and not having WiFi isn't really ideal in 2026, but was honestly fine just for the one night as we were only really there to sleep. As much as we enjoyed Breakfast the choice was a bit limited for us (no hot options, only brown toast, no oat milk), and the prospect of being seated around the kitchen table with other guests was a little daunting at first for introverts like us, but we soon relaxed as Ray regaled us with his tales. My only reason for rating ‘good’ instead of ‘very good’ is to be fair comparing some elements to other places we have stayed previously. That said, we had a lovely time and really enjoyed meeting our hosts, thank you!

Friendly helpful owner, comfortable rooms which helped with a great night's sleep for us and our daughter. Good varied continental breakfast in warm family kitchen.
