Excellent B&B with a homely touch

Homely stay 4 min drive away from the town centre. Friendly host. Fantastic land + sea view from room. Truly relaxing. Close to nature. Nice healthy breakfast with choice of cereal, museli, local bread, fruit, yoghurt, orkney butter and cheese. Location easy to reach to other place of interest.

La propreté immaculée , la vue, l’accueil chaleureux et bienveillant de Laura. Tout était impeccable et une qualité d’hébergement exceptionnelle. Le délicieux petit déjeuner était composé de céréales, fruits frais, yaourts, œufs brouillés, beurre local ainsi que du pain de qualité ( boulanger et non du pain de mie, et des variétés de pain Orcadiens 😊). Laura nous a également donné d’excellents conseils sur les choses à voir, visites locales. Un service inégalé jusqu’à présent (nous avons souvent séjourné en b and b, sur les îles Britanniques ces 15 dernières années) Un réel plaisir de retrouver notre hôte et notre hébergement après nos 3 journées de visite sur les Orcades.

Exceptionnel . Accueil chaleureux, chambre spacieuse et confortable, calme, espace dédié aux hôtes avec équipement pour la cuisine. Petit déjeuner copieux.

Laura and Brian are wonderful hosts. The room was clean and inviting. The property overlooks the town of Kirkwall, a great location. We had a car, but I believe the property is on a bus route. Breakfast was an assortment of foods, a good start to the day. Would highly recommend this property if you are visiting Kirkwall.

REally good option if you're mobile with a car/bike, in a comfortable, quiet, out of town B&B

Good location, a few minutes out of town (Kirkwell) which meant having the care was important. Lovely morning view! Comfy rooms, upstairs, which meant it was a little hard to to get luggage up there (minor quibble). Our host met us, and gave us a genuine welcome. On this occasion we did get the king sized bed we were after - we discovered that what we (Oz) call a king sized bed, is an extra large double bed in UK. Mostly but not always. Comfy bed, nice bathroom, quiet location, meant a good nights' sleep. A bit warm, so we change to the blanket with help from our host. She was very keen to make sure we had a good stay, which we did. Breakfast was more than a simple continental. It was really quite good! Generous, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal, local bread or pastry, scones, waffles, ?biddie pies? - wee flat breads - great with butter & marmalade :) And good coffee. V important for us, from Oz! And our host gave us good suggestions for places for lunch & dinner, and sights to consider. Which we did. Nice hotel - Merkistor (the Merk), & try a trip across the Churchill barriers to St Margaets Hope. Again another pub (the Murray Arms - better than it may first appear!) for lovely lunch in a very quiet town. No seals :( Good option if you are mobile with a car of bike. Good location, great breakfast, comfy rooms, and a host that was keen to ensure we had a good stay. Thank you.
