Good stay
6.0Very nice location, good breakfast, good value for the money, the staff is very nice.
− Very cold room, but the staff provided some blankets, shower is a little bit cold, but if you let it flow long enough it is hot.
Great place, bring warm clothes.
7.0It's pretty clean. The host was extremely friendly and kind. Great location. Breakfast had fruit, bread, and pancakes. No protein, but I can't really complain because of the super price. TV in private room. I did isla del luna, isla del sol and isla flotantes tour with the hostel for 60BOB.
− The main negative was the room temperature. This is the second coldest room I have slept in my entire life. I wore 6 upper layers, two leg layers and used 3 blankets (one of which I carry with me), gloves and a hat and still was cold when sleeping. I, however, realise it is not the hostel's fault directly (the altitude in copacabana means cold nights and mornings). However, I suppose a radiator or some extra blankets wouldn't go amiss. I also found dog hair in he breakfast where dogs roam freely. The shower water was cold and had electrics exposed to water. There was no toilet roll or soap in the room.
If you enjoy a terrible time...
4.0It's cheap, close to the main square where you get the bus to go in and out of the city, close to the restaurants and bay where you can do tourist stuff.
− From the moment I walked in, they were already trying to sell me one of the tours. I had not even completed check in they already want to show me videos of tours of Isla de la Luna and get me to buy other services. If you show you are not very interested, they change their attitude and don't treat you so well. I left my clothes on the first day to be washed, they were never washed and after 2 days they were still sitting at the reception. Someone told me 6 bolivianos per kg, which would amount to 12 bolivianos considering the amount of clothes I had to wash, another receptionist said 16 bolivianos. They don't know their own prices. After I mentioned I was checking out, one of the cleaning ladies simply made the bed again for another customer to use, and didn't take the bed sheets out to wash. The place smells bad, especially the bathrooms, there's no toilet paper, the bathroom on the second floor doesn't have hot water, the flush system is broken and it's so humiliating to the point one of the guests went to the reception and said this to the owner or manager: "hey, I can fix this for you if you want to". Imagine a guest coming over and fixing your broken hostel for you while you can't stop talking about selling tours instead of offering a good stay to your clients? Completely humiliating. Internet is not good. Breakfast is not what you see in the pictures. You have bread, jam, butter, coffee, teas, bananas and that's it. The chairs in the breakfast area are mostly broken. Confusion in their system, they stopped me to ask for my name after I had already been there for 1 or 2 days. It's a mess, I wouldn't recommend it. You live like a rat. Sometimes paying less is not worth it, and this is the case. Just go somewhere serious and responsible where you can actually exist decently. The owner/manager seriously need to check their priorities and get some maintenance done at this hostel.
