8.0We stayed in the manor house, it was beautiful and full of character. Breakfast was continental but very good Lovely friendly staff. The Castle was amazing but I was glad we stayed in the manor house. Steep narrow stone steps with ropes for hand rails. An amazing conservation and restoration project.

− Our room needed a bit more attention to decor but the effort is there. Change ceiling lights and add a tv but the tv isn’t essential. A nice easy chair would be cozy since there really isn’t a lounge area. But would definitely stay there again.

8.0A very unique lodging experience. Rooms are in the manor house and attached buildings, not in the historic tower. Guests can tour a couple of floors of the tower, if you want to try the 15th century spiral stairs. We stayed in the manor house. The rooms were a good size, as were the bathroom. Not large, but acceptable. The renovation of the buildings is quite remarkable. The location is acceptable, but it is a long drive to downtown Galway. There are restaurants nearby. I recommend it.
− This may seem tiny, but it could put a guest in the hospital. None of the showers have any anti-slip surface. No traction built into the surface or a separate rubber mat. Because of that, the shower is slippery to the point of being hazardous. The staff had no answer. We ended up putting a towel down on the floor.
