A beautiful and quaint home away from home.
9.0The location is amazing, high up on the street leading to one of the town's chapels and the overlooking spots on one side, and the other view down the street, is of the towers of the town's main church. The setting is lovely, the rooms quiet, clean and beautiful. The owners built the house by repurposing roof tiles, doors, window panes, etc., from century-old homes in town, and adhering faithfully to the architectural style of the town. Just across the street is a lovely and quaint coffee shop (El Angel Coffee) with the incredible torta de almojábana, served in a garden setting visited daily by a family of wild turkeys.
− Next door to this amazing place, at least as of 12/25, is Gringo Mike's, a restaurant/bar business that, unfortunately, and following Colombian custom when holding social events, such as a wedding on 12/27/25, must play music and have a DJ speaking as loudly as possible. And since Casa Tierrarte's rooms are obviously not sound proof, it was as having the party inside our room during the length of the event. This is obviously out of the control of Casa Tierrarte's owners, and something to keep in mind when booking the place on weekends.
