10.0Susan is a wonderful host, she is extremely kind and helpful. I had a wonderful stay. The location is perfect and the accommodation is beautiful. It's walking distance to the beach, the Kom and local restaurants and shops. As a solo woman traveller, I felt extremely safe. I would highly recommend staying here.
Cozy apartment with all you need for a nice stay in Kommetjie
10.0Comfy little apartment with everything you need in Kommetjie, quite n natural area, nice cat that sometimes comes to say hello. Waves to surf nearby, Cape point park not far. Good food n coffee around. Can see the sunset from the road that goes up to the reserve, 2 minutes by car, great viewpoint over the ocean
Bad stay at The Retreat
3.0We booked The Retreat based on the ratings of Booking.com We were very disappointed and left a day earlier. The bed was very uncomfortable with metal pushing into your ribs. The bathroom curtains were held up by washing pegs. The bedroom/lounge had a window that looked out into the neighbours bedroom. We could see them so of course they could see us!. There is ZERO security. We had to park on the street, and as we have been travelling for some time, we had a lot of expensive equipment with us for our blog like laptops, cameras etc, this was not acceptable. The entrance was a wooden door with no lock. The cottage itself only had a trellidoor and the glass door had no key. That's not acceptable anywhere, no matter how safe the owner thinks it is. We were not willing to leave our stuff there, it gets stolen and then it's sorry, it's never happened before! The owner did offer us other accommodation but by then we were gone.

Wonderful Stay
10.0The place is beautiful and very comfy. The room is very clean, quite close to the sea. It's fantastic to go to have a walk around the area with great views over Hout Bay. There are a lot of cafes and restaurants very close by. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. She even invited me to join a local quiz evening in a nearby cafe, such a great way to have a taste of local life. Finally, somehow, I even got a room upgrade! Thank you, Susan.
