8.0Overall I very much enjoyed my stay here. The room was spacious enough for me and very clean. I very much enjoyed the glass door and screen to the small balcony. The weather was pleasant and I kept the door open with the screen closed my entire visit. It was nice to sit out on the balcony. The town is easily walkable so other than driving to go outside of town I left my rental car parked at all times. Alex is a fine host. I had prearranged a place to stay near the airport in the event my plane arrived at the Palermo airport, which did happen. I notified Alex that I would not be there for the first night and he left me a note on the door to the B&B to call him when I arrived. He showed up immediately after I arrived and explained everything I needed to know for my stay.
− When I read reviews for Piazza Castello, I felt that I understood that a breakfast was going to be prepared; that is not the case. The breakfast is a cake, some bread things, some cooking looking things and a coffee maker. Perhaps I misunderstood, but I was a bit disappointed. The B&B owner is not present at the B&B. I never had need of him but I assume if I did, he would come, and I was OK with that. He did provide plenty of coffee and sugar. A very minor thing for me was that while the bathroom was rather small, which overall I didn't mind, the area around the toilet is tight. I could use it without a problem, but I could see that a larger individual could have issues.
Modern and clean, perfect retreat.
10.0The location was perfect as it is close to where we needed to be to visit family, shops etc. The room was clean and comfortable with exceptional wifi connection. Lovely balcony with views of the mountain and within earshot of the church bells. There is a fridge in the room and the communal kichen downstairs has a fridge, microwave and coffee machine.
− I would have liked a kettle in the communal kichen as heating water in the microwave for a cup of tea seems all wrong to a British guest ! 😞
A friendly and helpful manager was the best
