We had the most wonderful stay at the lovely rustic and cosy Keeper’s Cottage! When we arrived, we were greeted with such warmth and genuine hospitality by Stephen and Andrew. It is clear they truly love what they do. The cottage felt lovely and welcoming, with every detail carefully thought out. They both went above and beyond to make my husband’s 50th birthday extra special, even decorating our room to perfection! Each day the room was cleaned beautifully, with thoughtful touches like hot chocolate sachets, biscuits and sweets added. Breakfast was absolutely delicious!!! There were so many choices and everything was cooked to perfection.

− We would have to think very hard to come up with something negative 🙂 We loved everything.

Breakfast is out of this world. The choice in the menu is bigger than in a 5* hotel and definitely better served. It is very copious, extremely well presented, using local produce. The house is wonderfully kept, with great taste and many beautiful paintings. A stop to recommend.

The very warm welcome. The beautiful house very nicely furnished. The thoughtful touches, flowers and sweet treats in our room, fresh water and fresh milk .

Keepers Cottage was amazing the room was exceptional with everything spotless and tastefully decorated and well equipped The hosts made us feel so welcome nothing was too much trouble The breakfast choices were plentiful catering for a gluten free diet no issues and the food was of an excellent, standard and locally sourced

− The booking site said Keeoers Cottage was located in Holt but in fact a mile outside but in the end the peace and quiet was appreciated lovely views of rolling countryside

DO NOT USE . Overpriced rooms , located in the middle of nowhere . No facilities just an expensive bed for the night .

It was clean

− The room we stayed in was located at the top of the house in the attic basically . It was only accessible via a very narrow dangerous spiral staircase, where you had to duck to get through the opening onto it and then you had to have your hands available in order to pull yourself up using the rope handrail !! (This meant you could only get up there with a small cross body bag or a school back pack style sized sort of back pack on you 😡😡😡.) I have added photos . My husband fell trying to get his clothes up there. When we told the owners they couldn’t care less , were very defensive and just said “ that’s never happened before “ . We then had to give up unpacking and leave our stuff in the car 😡😡. We really should’ve left at that point but I was told it was non refundable and booking . Com had taken our money . We paid 358 for 2 nights !!!! The room once up there was small , boiling hot , no window in bathroom and a ridiculous joke of a wardrobe (see pics ) which was a cubby hole in the wall . Couldn’t even hang a shirt in it . The pictures on booking . Com really only display the proper room on the first floor . The fact that that room was only 20£ more a night is ridiculous. The property is located remotely in farmer fields so there was also the noise of the farm machinery to deal with and expensive taxis if you wanted to go out and have a social drink because of course this property has no license for a bar or any facilities . It’s someone’s home and you are just paying a lot to sleep there . That was the distinct vibe off of the hosts . Absolute rip off . I have messaged them for a right to reply and a chance to refund us accordingly and have been ignored . I have put an official complaint in through booking. Com and they are getting no response either .
