My top spot for staying in Brecon
10.0Spacious rooms, great views, fab shower, spotlessly clean, yummy breakfasts.
− Nothing
The best B&B I have ever experienced
10.0This is an amazing place to stay. It is spotlessly clean. Everything is in perfect contion. The decor is very tasteful, contemporary and carefully considered. The view of the mountains from the room is beautiful. All the staff are professional and exceptionally friendly. Breakfast is very high quality with great choice of options, perfectly prepared, presented and cooked. Huge comfortable bed with luxury linen.
− Nothing
The owners are rightly proud of a lovely traditional Bed and Breakfast.
9.0Room great, very clean, great breakfast.
− Would not allow my daughter who was camping close by, to come in our room to visit and have a cup of tea.
A very very comfortable stay in Brecon
10.0In short, everything! Quite location with an amazing view of the mountains from the huge windows. Very good size room with a superking bed, linens, towels as they have been bought yesterday. Super clean. Wonderful breakfast. Nice and friendly hosts. And attention to the smallest details. We spent very comfortable and relaxing time in that small BandB. Having said that, the quality is far above a standard BandB level. Thanks again.

Grim
2.0First the plus side: the rooms are well-appointed with good furniture, quality doors, very good bathrooms , good double glazing and a good breakfast.
− Grim. Review of Camden Lodge There are several points on the minus side. What they add up to are that the accommodation is run intentionally so that the guests are the least possible trouble. A example of this is that there is no housekeeping. No one makes the beds or cleans the rooms or empties the rubbish. Instead, on the landing, there is a trolley with boxes for waste, plastic bags for the waste bins and (welcome) replacement bottles of water. A second example of this is that the week before, I became aware that temperatures in Brecon last weekend were going to be very high, when we booked for Camden Lodge we booked with Booking.com. As always, we used free cancellation in order to have time to enquire whether the accommodation was in a quiet location. I emailed the property explained that we were escaping a music festival two Fields away on Anglesey where we live. We had already had to go away from a rock festival at the same venue in June which lasts Thursday to Monday and goes on each night until four in the morning. The property replied sympathetically: they said that they had a jazz festival in August and lots of locals then went away. Reassured that they understood the situation, we kept the booking..What they didn’t mention was that on Saturday evening there was a loud sixties music festival in Brecon a few hundred yards away from the property. The weekend was part of the current heat wave and therefore it was vital to have all the windows open. This meant 4 1/2 hours of loud 60s favourites. And no sleep until they had finished. And that was the major problem. The rooms in the house were absolutely stifling. There was no air-conditioning, which is reasonable given that it is only a B&B and not a hotel, but no attempt had been made to spend some of the 2025 or 2026 takings on fans or portable units. We discussed this with some of the other guests with mutual eye – rolling.
