An amazing experience as usual.
10.0Breakfast was amazing as usual. John is an amazing host. Thank you.
Highly recommended for classic CHB experience
10.0Not only a lovely historical homestead but fantastic hosts who look after their guests exceptionally well.
Excellent short stay
9.0Interesting historic homestead, warm welcome and great breakfast!
− Nothing
A lovely spot to break the journey from Whakatane to Wellington.
9.0We loved the history - the beautiful woods used to build the house & the old trinkets. Our bed was very comfortable & it was lovely looking out over the homestead gardens. John was very welcoming, helpful, & cooked us a delicious breakfast. It is great that the old house has been saved so we were happy to support this noble cause.
− I wouldn’t recommend it for people with mobility issues as the bedrooms are upstairs & the private bathrooms don’t adjoin the bedrooms. This is not a problem otherwise & added to the quirkiness of staying in a very old house.
Loved it and would happily return. Encouraging others to do so.
10.0Loved it - so clean and very interesting. Loved the rural setting. Beautifully furnished with so many interesting objet d'arts. A time capsule but done with real flair.
− Stairs - which you can't avoid - were a bit of a pain.
Absolutely Fabulous
