Perfect for people wanting a truly traditional Portuguese home, and tranquility away from it all.
8.01) The hosts are absolutely lovely and genuinely helpful. 2) The bed was good quality and very comfortable. 3) The setting is beautiful. 4) Eggs and figs from the farm in the mornings was a lovely surprise. If you want a glimpse of life in traditional Portugal in a beautiful family home, with deep quiet, lots of birdsong and wonderful views, this is a great choice. For people coming to Portugal on holiday, this will give you a much better immersion experience than a hotel would. And the location between Arraiolos and Pavia, close to Evora but not too close, is also great for people wanting to experience the real Portugal, and people who appreciate remoteness and tranquility.
− 1) If I had realised it was up 1.2km of unsurfaced rough track, I wouldn't have booked it (I'm sure I should have noticed that in the small print! So that one is my own fault I suspect). 2) Very disappointed that the pool was unusably cold - even a simple thermal cover tends to keep outdoor pools in Portugal warm enough to use from late May to early October. The pool was one of my main reasons for booking, and I am fine with quite cold, but this was much colder than most. All of this is because this really is a family home, not a hotel. At a slightly lower price, I would have been completely satisfied, but at this price I would be going for a Pousada next time. (Same with washing up after breakfast, and cooking my own eggs - completely happy to do that in a mid-range apartment., but a bit surprised, at these prices)
