Beautiful, but challenging.

The hosts were very kind. We loved the breakfast. The garden is beautiful.

− Once the breakfast is served, I would like to eat in peace with my family without the hosts standing by and trying to make unnecessary smalltalk. The property is pretty much cut off and it's a long walk (2km) to the beach, especially in July, which was an absolute hell unless you have a car. Walking to and from the beach was horrendous in summer heat. There is no public transport that could take you to the beach, which is also where all the cafes are. Part of the route follows busy roads, there are sections without sidewalks, and there is very little shade. During our stay, with temperatures around 42°C, walking to the beach took about 30 minutes and was quite exhausting. If you have a car, this is an excellent place to stay. If you are arriving by plane and plan to spend most of your time walking to and from the beach, it is simply something worth considering before booking. The information listed on Booking stated they offer Shuttle service (free) yet when I asked for the service they wanted to charge me €30. I told them that it was listed for free, so they took down that information and said they couldn't provide the service. They also listed Beach umbrellas as part of their amenities, however, they do not have their own designated spot on the beach, so we had to pay €35 every day for a beach umbrella and two beach chairs on a private beach.

Struttura fantastica e impeccabilmente pulita. Villa siciliana immersa in un giardino ricco di piante di mandarini e arance, di cui abbiamo avuto la fortuna di godere dei frutti durante le colazioni preparate dalla signora Mara e da suo marito Amedeo. L’unità abitativa si trova all’interno della villa dei proprietari, ma dispone di accesso e servizi completamente indipendenti, garantendo così tranquillità e privacy. La sera l’ambiente è silenzioso e di notte si dorme davvero molto bene, lontani da qualsiasi rumore. Una menzione speciale va alla colazione: più che abbondante, con prodotti di qualità tipici della zona e ottime torte fatte in casa. Abbiamo avuto modo di assaggiare sia prelibatezze dolci che salate, tutte tipiche del territorio. La signora Mara si è dimostrata estremamente disponibile e gentile nel soddisfare le nostre richieste riguardo alle preferenze alimentari per la colazione. Impagabile anche la possibilità di dialogare con persone del posto, che hanno vissuto in prima persona i cambiamenti degli ultimi anni della città di Palermo e del territorio circostante, permettendoci di entrare ancora più in contatto con la realtà dei luoghi. Struttura più che consigliata per chi desidera visitare Mondello, le zone limitrofe e la città di Palermo.

Authentic Sicilian stay with lovely hosts

Very kind and hospitable hosts, with who we enjoyed talking about Sicily and Palermo. An incredible breakfast, freshly prepared by Mara everyday. She even customises the breakfast to your liking! Beautiful spacious apartment, fully equipped and with a renovated bathroom. Location is great: 5 minutes (car) to Mondello beach and about 15 minutes to Palermo centre. 100 % recommend! We also enjoyed the garden, but don't forget to bring anti-mosquito spray :)

− The bed was a little to hard for our liking, although this is a personal preference.

Unser Aufenthalt (3 Tage) bei Mara und Amadeo war wunderbar. Sei sind sehr gastfreundlich. Die Wohnung ist komplett ausgestattet. Eine große Wohnküche mit separatem Schlafsofa, ein großes Schlafzimmer und ein hochwertiges Badezimmer standen uns zur Verfügung. Der Garten ist ebenfalls sehr schön und gepflegt. Hier wird das üppige und vielfältige Frühstück serviert. Im Garten gibt es noch eine zusätzliche Sitzecke, Dusche, Liegen, Wäscheständer. Es ist alles vorhanden, (außer einer Waschmaschine) . Der Parkplatz dirkt auf dem abgeschlossen Areal vor der Tür, ist ebenfalls ein großes Plus!Top!

− Waschservice wird für 15 Euro angeboten. Wir hätten gerne selbst eine Maschine Wäsche gemacht.

The garden was a true highlight, offering a serene and picturesque space to relax and enjoy the Italian landscape. It felt like a private oasis where we could unwind. The outside patio was equally charming and served as the perfect spot for family gatherings, from morning coffee to evening conversations.

− Unfortunately, our stay was impacted by a few key issues related to the property's owner. We found the owner, who lived next door, to be rude at times, particularly in the mornings. There was a strict breakfast routine where we had to order what we wanted each day, but this was difficult to manage with our children's unpredictable schedules. The owner's impatience when our kids weren't eating or were a bit slow in the mornings created an uncomfortable atmosphere. The most frustrating part of the trip was the day of our departure. We were forced to check out at 8:30 AM because a new family was scheduled to check in at noon. This unexpected and early departure meant we had to wait outside the property for over an hour with our luggage, which was a very disappointing and inconvenient end to our family vacation.

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Gastgeber haben uns ein sehr leckeres Frühstück gezaubert und der Garten war herrlich (vor allem die Außendusche unter dem Olivenbaum). Äußerst empfehlenswert!
