Great historic place with the best host of all time.
10.0Our three-night stay was one of the absolute highlights of three weeks in Europe. The wonderfully historic space has been renovated with the modern conveniences you need, but the friendliness and hospitality of Roberto is what takes it to another level. For the free breakfast, you sit down in Roberto's shop and he brings you pastries, cheese, meat, bread, juice, coffee drinks made to order, and fresh fruit until you are full and satisfied. All this with such friendliness and good humor. It's a perfect place from which to start your day of exploring Umbria. The small ancient hill-top town of Montecchio is a great place for elevated views over the sublime countryside (see my picture from the kitchen window), and a relaxing stroll to start or end your day. A good place to stay, but also an experience my family will remember and talk about for a long time.
