The facilities are all new and modern. There was plenty of hot water and the bed was comfortable. There is free purified water to drink. Lienke does a great job of pointing out on a map what sights to see and what restaurants to go to and which ones you shouldn’t go to. She also was nice enough to arranged a taxi for us when we left. Her and her husband are also tour guides, so you can arrange tours with them.

Our family had a lovely 5 night stay at the Black Pearl in a two bedroom apartment that was clean and comfortable with hot water, a/c and a mini fridge & kitchen. Plus it was cleaned daily if we wanted, which was a nice benefit over staying in an airbnb. There is also a woman who does laundry quickly and affordably across the street which was super helpful. But what really made our stay wonderful was the host. Lienke welcomed us on arrival by showing us a map of the town and providing us with restaurant recommendations as well as showing us things we could do independently, booking tours for us and lending us wetsuits (including kids sized wetsuits). When we had a minor issue with one of our tours, Lienke handled the issue wonderfully. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Staff cleaned the room each day. The air conditioner worked well.

− My daughter got a sunburn and the topical medication got on the sheets. I text the owners telling them that I could pay for the sheets if it didn’t come out. Without checking if it had come out, they immediately asked for $60. They didn’t even ask which size sheet it was (there was a twin and a queen in the room). And they were used sheets. I bought them a new set for one that had seen countless uses. It was super weird. Other issues - it’s too far from the main part of town. I would just pay a little more and stay in a central area if I went to Isabella again. Also the owners little son, probably 3 years old, came by often to spy on us and try to get our attention. It was harmless but still made us uncomfortable. One time he even opened the sliding door and came in the room while I was lying on the bed. I felt like I had to keep the curtains closed so he wouldn’t know when we were there.

Ambiente familiar muy agradable. Lienke fue una gran ayuda durante nuestra estancia. Hicimos la actividad de los Túneles con ellos y todo super bien. Desayuno muy rico. Muy contentos. El hotel está a 5 minutos del pueblo dando un paseo.

My wife and I loved our stay at the Black Pearl. The rooms are super clean and comfortable. The hosts Lienke and Dario are so friendly and helpful. They really give it their best to make your time on Isabela enjoyable. They give fantastic recommendations on what to do on the island, where to eat and drink, help organizing tours and renting out snorkeling equipment. Thank you both so much! 🙏
