Nice, quite comfortable place in a very quiet place not far fro Toshugu.
8.0Location is convenient, construction is modern and overall well thought. Apartments are very well equipped and comfortable. The worst point to us was there was a mention of two rooms but actually one of the two sleeping zones in a mezzanine only closed to other spaces by a curtain. Can hardly qualify as a room to us.
− Besides the « fake » toon, the check in process that was thought to be efficient with no human intervention has revelead in practice very time consuming and not even effective. Pre-arrival we had to register all the guests sas well as scan their passports. As one guest was missing from the reservation, owe had to wait for a second link before doing the formal check in. Then it starts to be complicated since you need to call an operator through a video link, with all guests present at the same time with their passports. We tried a few times but availability of operators to take calls was limited. So overall we gave up. By contrast the check out process is super simple and smooth.

Outstanding place to stay if you are ever visiting the Nikko area.
10.0The area is very nicely laid out and easy to access the Toshogu Shrine area by car or taxi. There is no easy bus access that we saw, but we drove so parking was just fine.
− Not a Rakuten Stay issue, but booking.com never sent or conveyed the information that we needed to email Rakuten about our arrival so we could get the door access code. I was lucky enough to dig through all the links from Booking.com and find the contact info for Rakuten to get the door code.

10.0Love this place. We always try to book one like this to stay each time we visit so we have a kitchen and we can buy goods from a grocery store to cook. This place didn't disappoint. The location was up in the hills, quiet and serene. We drove so it was very easy to get to, but it is along a bis route as well. There's even a certified hot sping water tub in our suite which was unexpected and amazing!!
− Nothing I didn't like! Would stay again!
