The most Awesome Hampton Inn anywhere !!!
10.0This is truly the best Hampton Inn and Suites anywhere ! Situated right on the shores of Lake Michigan surrounded by beach and play grounds for kids. The staff is very friendly from the front desk to the bar staff , yes BAR , on the 5th floor a full bar and restaurant , not hotel food ! Plus they have live bands and from there you over look the beach and the Lake ! The rooms are super clean, balcony’s facing the lake are amazing views ! This is my second stay, and both stays have been great ! Highly recommend ! Thanks for a great experience !
Almost A Perfect Hotel
10.0The room was both nice and clean. Breakfast featured good bacon, good sausage, and good omelettes. There's a pier that is only a modest walk from the hotel. If you walk to the end at night, then turn and look back at the shore, you'll behold an array of colors reflecting off the water. Really the only nitpick we had is the use of a sliding "barn door" for the bathroom; there's a gap that leaves the occupant without total privacy. A normal door is much better.
Good hotel with terrible breakfast
8.0I stayed for two nights at the Hampton Manistee. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. Then again, prices were relatively high, so price value ratio is perhaps not perfect. What to like about the hotel: - Great location at the seafront - Relatively modern, spacious rooms - Outside whirlpool is really unique What I liked less: - The breakfast was honestly dreadful. I know it’s included in the room price, but we also paid around 250$ a night, so I feel this is worth a comment. This breakfast would be unacceptable almost all around the world. Everything is cheap, plastic, unhealthy. Literally the only option of food that is not highly processed is an apple. The „fruit“ Joghurt does not even contain fruit nor fruit aroma. I felt like offering such a breakfast is almost worse than offering none at all. - The bar closes quite early. Arriving at 8:30, we were quite surprised to learn it was already the last round. - Food options in the restaurant are limited but ok in quality. Nothing spectacular.
Gorgeous resort hotel with epic view of Lake Michigan.
10.0We stayed here in October and had a wonderful time. Room was gorgeous, view of the lake was epic and breakfast delicious. It’s like a resort with fire pits, rooftop restaurant and more. Bummed tho that the restaurant was closed on a Monday .
Go ELSEWHERE.
4.0I chose this property based on the positive reviews. Big mistake. Physically, the building was renovated nicely to make it become a Hampton. However, we were quite surprised to find that the King suite we rent at every other Hampton was not nearly the same size as new built Hamptons. It had the same layout, but approximately 1/3 smaller. The view out the front was nice, but by no means anything comparable to any of our East Coast beaches. We have three huge complaints regarding this property. FIRST, the quality of the sheets AND towels was horrible. The 8 bath towels that we had over our two night stay should all be burned; very thin and yellowish in color. TWO, we had rented two rooms; one on floor 4 and one on floor 2. BOTH of us had dogs across the hallway from our rooms. Dogs should be on one designated floor ONLY and that floor # should be made aware of to the customers that do not want to be in a room that dogs have been in AND don’t want to hear dogs barking when their owners leave them alone in the room. THREE, their restaurant (Windward) was a horrible dining experience. From the slow service, to the poor quality of the food in how it was prepared, to the lack of general customer service. We did complain to our server about our over cooked burgers and showed her how disgusting they were. She was kind enough to credit is $20 on our check. It may be fine for a cocktail bar, BUT none of the 6 of us would ever recommend that restaurant. We were so looking forward to our stay there, and of 4 hotels on our trip, it was the one that was just terrible. The Empire area north of Manistee was beautiful along the shoreline.
