Checking out ruined the positive experience of the entire stay

Sharing an honest opinion can be a daunting task, but it's crucial to provide feedback for the benefit of future guests. The apartment we stayed in was equipped with all the necessary amenities and boasted a stunning terrace view. The overall cleanliness was satisfactory, although we did notice a damaged cabinet and a waste bin in the bathroom. Moreover, there were some cobwebs in the apartment and minor marks of funges on the shower cabin joints. Despite these minor issues, the apartment's condition was generally pleasing.

− During our stay, we encountered a problem with the refundable deposit of 200 euros requested by the owner's mother to cover potential damages. We questioned the need for such a high amount, considering the property's condition. Unfortunately, we also faced difficulties with the return of this deposit. Initially, the owner's mother, who did not speak English, welcomed us and showed us around the apartment. The owner always contacted us through WhatsApp, which was more convenient for communication. If we asked for something by WhatsApp then the mother of the owner tried to help us. However, when it was time to check out, we experienced some unexpected challenges. There was a power outage in the entire area, which made it challenging to prepare breakfast and clean the apartment before leaving. When the owner's mother arrived to inspect the apartment, she acted inappropriately by shouting and slamming cabinets. She claimed that we had damaged the parquet floor from the sofa, despite it already being damaged before our stay. Her negative and aggressive behavior was shocking and left us with a negative impression of the apartment. Although the owner later arrived, apologized for his mother's behavior, and returned the deposit, we cannot recommend this place to future guests. If the owner's mother continues to be the one responsible for the property's services, it raises concerns for future guests' experiences.
