Lovely Edinburgh area option

10.0

Entry was with a code on an outdoor gate, main building entrance and unit front door making it feel very safe. There were 3 bedrooms all with TVs, great comfortable beds and 2 nice bathrooms. The water pressure was great and the showers were very good. The living area was well planned with a big screen TV, 2 nice couches, a large dining table, fully equipped kitchen and french doors out to a very nice garden. The town of Dunfermline gave us a great immersion into the Scottish culture and history. It had plenty of necessary resources within walking distance of the unit including several money exchanges, a large grocery-a block away, a nice main street (high street) with shops, restaurants, pubs, coffee and cake shops, travel agencies, hair and nail salons, barber shops, etc. The train station is several blocks, but there are several bus options to get there and a main bus station is very close. It was a great place to stay during the high season of Edinburgh, it was easy to get to the Edinburgh events by train and offered us a much appreciated sanctuary away from those crowds, yet didn't lack the action we were looking for. The only issue was that Uber or Lyft do not run in town, only private Taxis which were a bit challenging. So if walking is an issue, I suggest renting a car. There is ample park and ride spots at the train stations to get to the city, but everywhere is hilly and cobblestone so just a short walk can be a workout.
