Lovely resort on the outskirts of the old town

Lovely boutique hotel in a few KMs from the old town. The views across the paddyfield and to the river from the restaurant were lovely. The room was very comfortable. The staff were exceptional and went out of their way to help at every opportunity.

− There was very little we didn't like. The rooftop pool was lovely but a slightly bigger pool for the size of the property would have been good. The location out of the old town was good as it wasn't as busy, and the shuttle bus was helpful - it would have been good if it could have been more frequent (maybe every hour rather than every 2). We used Grabs but they weren't always easy to get so we were left waiting an hour or more for the shuttle.

The room was a good size and the bathrooms were great. The connecting rooms worked really well and we were fortunate enough to have one overlooking the paddy fields and on the end. however, being on the second floor only was noisy. We had a permanent squeak which was annoying and led us to not sleep very well. We couldn't identify where it was coming from or what it was. We mentioned this to the management team and we were offered to move rooms on the second day but the room was overlooking the road at the front and was a lot noisier and darker with less of a view. So in fairness we chose to stay put. The breakfast was good with a variety of options each day. The location was lovely, being out of the old town and having the market, shops and restaurants all within walking distance. The pool is small, and little atmosphere at the bar area there.

− The shuttle service to bring you into town and to the beach is a great idea but is a total bun fight. No order or system at all. other than first come first served. So on several occasions we were down at the stop early and second in line, but this seemed irrelevant to some guests who just strolled up at the bus time and ignored the fact that us and others were already there and waiting. on one occasion the bus did a second trip to the old town as there were too many guests, on a second occasion we were offered an electric shuttle to the beach instead of going on the bus, but we had seats on the bus. Of course you can never estimate the behaviour or other guests during your stay and at other times this system may work, but it was stressful and lacked organisation. We stayed at another hotel during our trip to vietnam that was also out of the town, they offered a shuttle service and this had to be booked with guest services via phone or WhatsApp at least 30 minutes before departure. A system such as this would work, or if you were to come to reception and 'check in' for the shuttle beforehand then they would at least know who was first and who was going on the bus, rather than the chaos, stress and pushing and shoving.
