Chambre réservée 15 jours à l’avance et j’ai obtenu 2 confirmations avant mon départ. Après 4 heures de route arrivant sur place rue Victoria un regroupement d’environ 20 personnes ayant loués eux aussi sur une capacité moindre d’hébergement ont attendues. L’ouverture de l’hébergement était de 15:00 hrs à 18:00 hrs. Ne jamais été ouvert. Toujours barré à clé.Obligation pour nous d’être hébergé à 50 kilomètres dans une Auberge de jeunesse assez rudimentaire d’occupation. En plus du stress de ne pouvoir obtenir un couche nous avons dus faire 100 kilomètres supplémentaires. Décourageant à souhait. Mario Gentes.Shawinigan.

Dishonest owner cancelled a paid for booking (2 weeks old) without informing me. Previous to my trip, I tried calling the property to comfirm what are its checkin hours and procedures since other sites say 3-6 pm, and could get no answer on the phone (and its voicemail is full). Tried twice again on day of trip during 3-6 pm period while on the way from Montreal (6 hour drive). Arrived at hotel at 630 due to accident delays, and owner/receptionist was not there. Met 2 others outside that he (Alex) also did this to, and they told me that he actually did it to 20 people and none of then were informed either. Owner was not there to take the heat. Was very difficult to find another room at last minute due to hotels being full due to an airshow that weekend. Not sure if I got a refund yet, and will be contacting Expedia support.

When I arrived at La Maison Tanguay there was no one who knew I was supposed to arrive, and no one on-site spoke English. My bumbling about a reservation was enough to get a ....tenant? to call the landlord, who spoke English and explained that the property is new on Expedia and the description was not quite right. I reserved two rooms and the landlord tried to give me a single room, and when I refused he suggested I try another property 15 minutes away that was "much nicer." I again refused, and I ended up booking at a hotel in town. Maybe the landlord was right and this place will get better in the future, but I would not chance it until there are several positive reviews. Even then, my personal bias means I will never stay here again despite its good location.
