The hotel was great, the administration less so.

− The hotel (or possibly a holiday inn booking office) cancelled an additional booking I had made for friends because they couldn’t contact me by phone at 2pm on the arrival date to confirm the booking as the visa debit card used for the booking would not work in China (I had had to use a different card when I checked in because of this so they were aware of the problem) I was actually in my room at the hotel so they simply needed to use the internal phone to check. My friends arrived after a six hour journey to find they had no room. The duty manager worked hard to find alternative accommodation at another hotel and gave them complimentary breakfast so it wasn’t a complete disaster.
