Interesting experience, but would not recommend it
7.0The ambiance in the middle of nature. The bed was good and comfortable. The Bush walk safari guides were fantastic. The breakfast was very good. The other safari driver who drove us back to the meeting point was also great.
− The food was very modest for the price we had paid. The shower was horrible, with a guy filling hot water into a bucket and each guest having a bucket to shower. Our Safari driver was not very excited to drive us around. The paths to the tents lacked light and they dos not supply us with flashlights.

10.0Fantastic staff and atmosphere. Loved it.
Beautiful bush experience
10.0Total serenity
− Everything was perfect
Very very disappointing
4.0We liked the tent idea and the room was well set up but did not cater for warmth comfort. The bathroom was adequate and we loved the shower. The "river bed" set up was great and we loved relaxing there. The food was good and varied in each meal.
− Our ranger was positively useless (Neil) - uncommunicative, didn't know any birds or trees, not engaging at all and indifferent to the whole experience. He had no personality and with two boys in the car, hardly answered any questions with any added information or anecdotes. It was annoying to go on drive with him as he offered nothing, spoke as little as possible and for a bush experience, he was really hopeless. The staff were friendly but disorganised and there appeared to be a lack of management on the whole. The bar waiter didn't know anything about drinks and how to serve or offer them. Food ran out at lunch and dinner ,and guests had to wait at the counter after asking for more to be brought - this should not happen. Bar service or waitering whilst we were down on the river bed was non existent - no offer of more wine, or drinks, we had to go up to ask for service. The wine list is dreadful - with over 4500 farms in the country, why are the worst and cheapest wines being offered?? Protea wines are vinegar. Surely some reasonable, good wines could be added - very little choice which was disappointing. Staff decided to have a fiery complaints meeting in the boma area right in the middle of the day in the middle of where the guests were sitting in the river bed, and continued to air their grievances and why they want to leave KU because of working conditions - not appropriate at all. The tents were absolutely freezing at night - the blankets were insufficient, and the hot water bottle didn't last the night. Something really needs to be done - none of us slept well as it was so cold!!! The staff told us that everyone complains about the cold tents. The camp manager only appeared on our last day - there is no attention to detail and whilst there could be so many good things to make this a great adventure, she is not on the ball and the staff are not guided or trained properly.
