Great and personal safari experience

9.0

Fantastic location right on the river with crocodiles, hippos and much more. Delicious food and very attentive staff.

Less game in the reserve means slighter chances of seeing something on safaris.

Very good

Location is magnificent. The staff was generally helpful.

The limited options of drinks given the festive period and remote location. Management can do better to enhance the overall guest experience through better communication and coordination of guest activities

Unpleasant stay and wouldn’t want to go back

1.0

Nothing much except the river view

It’s an okay establishment, there’s a lot of improvement to be done. Our stay wasn’t of the best though….. Their food prices are expensive for the quality. Wasn’t impressed with their dinner prices, it’s R335 per person and doesn’t give you much of options. With that price I strongly believe that it could be a buffet menu or they can give you a variety to choose from if you don’t want a boma dinner. Their game drive doesn’t include drinks, meaning you have to pay extra on top of the R550 or R650 that you paid depending which option you opted (morning drive or evening drive) for. We booked 5 days but had to cut our trip short as everything was expensive. Should you wish to go I suggest to atleast visit less than 5 days. The nearest town is 30 minutes away which doesn’t really give you that much allowance to go around and explore. Should you wish to go you’ll still be charged an extra fee for them to drop you off at the gate and get your vehicle. We ordered dinner and the fish wasn’t pleasant, the chef forgot to bring out the sauce and the meal was just awful. We found cockroaches in our room and also saw some at their river dining area. The bathroom didn’t have a mini dustbin for any sanitary items. The rooms are not that big, a bit dark and you must always have the lights on. When our towels went to be washed and we asked for new ones we were advised that they don’t have any spares. We were also advised that for the 4 nights that we were there our sheets were not changed cause they didn’t have any spares. Would have expected an outdoor shower, unfortunately they dont have. The scenery is beautiful though. They have the big 5 which is amazing. For the money spent one would expect to get a 5 star treatment. Out of 10 I would give it 2.

Beautiful location surrounded by wildlife.

Beautiful location on a river with hippos and views of a large number of animals on other side of river.

Some more guests would have been nice.
