A comfortable stay in a stylish room
8.0Very well furnished and comfortable large room in a new hotel which has been cleverly converted from an old building. In an excellent town centre location.
− The hotel doesn't have a reception desk (it is key pad access), so you don't see any staff during your stay. There isn't a lift up to the rooms. Breakfast is taken in a small space which is also key pad accessed. The continental style breakfast itself was perfectly fine, but the room did feel a little strange to use.

− No staff on site. At all. We were woken at 5.30am by fire alarms. All guests went down to car park. No staff were on site to direct us, to support us. One of the guests had 2 crutches and really struggling. (I hope she was on the ground floor). My husband had to ring the number for the Hotel porter to come to the hotel. Fire service attended. The alarms were set off by a guest using aerosol deodrant. THIS IS NOT ON THE HOTEL SITE/IN THE ROOMS NOT TO USE AEROSOLS. BAD COMMINICATION. BAD EXPERIENCE. THERE SHOULD 24/7 STAFF PRESENCE WE HAD A 3.5HR DRIVE HOME. The room temperature was set at 29°. This is far too high, higher risk of germs airborn. We could not change it. There was fan. Not good enough.
