A gorgeous place, slightly let down by the service

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Fritton Lake, and the hotel and facilities were wonderful, especially the heated pool! We enjoyed long morning walks around the lake and grounds, and sitting outside to enjoy our meals at the restaurant (the food was brilliant). Our room was comfortable, cosy and stylish (but we could have done with a mini fridge to keep milk in for our mornig coffee, and our baby's milk). The grounds were obviously very well kept and cared for. The only thing that let down Fritton Lake was its service. One of the ladies on the front desk wasn't very warm or welcoming on our arrival, to the point of being rude. She also didn't know about any of the walking routes around the property, which we thought was strange (surely every guest must ask about this!). Other staff we dealt with seemed new and inexperienced (one staff member at the pool bar said he didn't know how to work the pizza oven, despite pizza being the only food they served there!), and another had no idea whether we could bring our dog into certain areas or not. We also had an issue where my husband ordered an iced white americano, and the lady serving us had no idea what that was. Everyone seemed confused and new. The hotel would benefit from training its staff members up a little more and ensuring their front-of-house staff (one lady in particular) are less cold and rude to guests who are spending a good amount of money to stay there.

A fantastic place with so many things to do included - particularly loved the sauna, outdoor heated pool, lake and just the general atmosphere. Will definitely be back!
