Passable

5.0

The views from the house are stunning and can be seen from 2 of the 3 bedrooms, the kitchen and the lounge. The view really is as beautiful as the advertising photographs if not more so. The house was also very clean with modern appliances. The bedrooms were pleasant although one was a little small. The bathrooms were clean and the water pressure and hot water were good. The house is close to the main road but not too close and it is still very quiet (except when the school children are on a break from the school next door). The raised balcony, garden and garage are useful too.

The managing agents, sent us far too many messages over many weeks trying to sell us extras - boat trips, packages, cooking experiences etc. Secondly, they left it till 7 days before the start of our stay to demand we set up an account on their website, upload information & copies of our passports. If it was really necessary, it should have been requsted much earlier or taken at the property on our arrival. But they refused to release the code for the key box unless we complied. Not a good start. When we arrived, there was no one there to greet us, nor instructions on how to use any of the appliances - the washing machine and microwave ovens were far from straightforward. They did not respond in a timely manner to our question/request for help. Quite frankly, it felt that unless they could make more money out of you, they weren't interested at all. The kettle is dangerous. It comes on by itself and stays on. The Kitchen needs more useful kitchen utensils and crockery. There were also mosquitoes around despite them telling us there weren't - so we got bitten a lot. There are no nets on the windows. The biggest problem though was access and parking - the next-door neighbour blocked the single road with his truck. we could not get in or out unless he moved it. Out of the first 7 times we drove in or out, his truck blocked us 5 times. This is not acceptable. So, we politely asked him not to do it and he told us that he owned the road and could park where he liked. Nice attitude. Sure, he moved his car when we needed to get through, but we always felt trapped. The agent's response was to say that we must not park on that road. In the end, we got so worried that I took a photo of his car and then next day he challenged me about that. Getting our car out of the garage and reversing 125 yards down the narrow road around a bend into a business car park to turn round was 'fun'.

Very good

8.0

Waking up to the magnificent views was awesome. Especially after our late arrival in a heavy thunderstorms. The unit was nice, clean & had what we needed. My husband was happy for the coffee machine. A short 15min walk to the ferry stop & local mini market, wine bar etc.

Well... to be informed about the extra paperwork & taxes would have been handy - something may have been lost in translation, but being hounded via another communication system was a little unnecessary. Then, to arrive at the set address to discover a boom gate (which is key operated - keys being at the unit's gate in lockedbox) & no access to the unit due to locals blocking the driveway. But all was sorted after a few knocks on gates. A dryer or clothes line would be helpful for the summer thunderstorms. The toaster didn't work, but we managed. In all, we were happy

Good

The place was lovely, clean, and exactly like the pictures. It had a great view and the check in process was very easy.

The location was really tough to travel to and from. I would not recommend staying here unless you rent a car or book a taxi service in advance to bring you everywhere. Although, the ferry and bus station are nearby they are not reliable forms of transportation. The bus does not come often and there is pretty much no access to car services unless you book in advance. The proximity to Bellagio and Tremezzo is nice and we liked that the location wasn't super touristy but nothing is really walkable.
