6.0We don't really stay here. Been told there is a "problem" in the room so direct us to a different hotel not far away. So my review will be based on the Beacon Hotel.
− The beacon hotel is a bit noisy

1.0The sheets were clean and the view was nice.
− The view would have been nice if the windows had actually been clean. The listing showed a balcony in the photos, but in reality there was no accessible balcony at all — as it was missing. The paint was peeling off the walls, and there appeared to be mold developing in some areas. There was an unpleasant smell throughout the property, especially in the bathroom, and the entire house smelled strongly of weed. The host who greeted us was also very unpresentable: he had blood around his nose, dishevelled hair, and appeared sweaty and unclean, which made us feel uncomfortable immediately. Later in the evening, we discovered that someone seemed to be living in the attic. They made noise and played music well into the night. There was an information sheet saying we should call the host if it is nosy, so I assume other guests have complained but this should no be the case. The property was advertised as having family rooms, but the environment was completely unsuitable for a child. We ended up leaving and cutting our trip short. Absolutely horrible experience.

10.0I was looking for clean, comfortable, friendly, no frills budget accommodation - and the Lakeside more than satisfied that.
− no clothes hooks on room doors; prefer shower gel dispenser in shower rather than packets; there should be a box to put keys in on checkout OR instructions as to what to do
Friendly, welcoming n quite , clean n good value for money i was even given an upgrade at no extra c
8.0No breakfast but good cafe across road, good location.
