Exceptional place run with the heart
10.0Second time in Royal Andilana and I can say that it’s an exceptional hotel. For sure one of the best ones I’ve ever been to! And as I work in tourism I travel a lot! The hotel has an amazing style, lovely, clean and specious rooms. It’s run by Italians so the food is ABSOLUTELY amazing. You can just eat all the long. Most importantly all the staff are kind and friendly (starting from the ladies cleaning the room and finishing on managers), animators do great entertainment and always come to you with their hearts open! It’s a family style management, which means the main director will come to you to offer an espresso and will pop up in the middle of the night if something is happening and you need help. I love that it’s not focused on a mass tourism. You can really relax here surrounded by the palm trees, peace, and Malagasy culture. Highly recommend to anyone! The only thing I would change is the coffee included in the price of an all-inclusive ☺️
A Very Disappointing Stay — Illness, Pressure for Tips and Poor Hygiene
2.0Most hotel guests are becoming very sick — diarrhoea, severe stomach pain and clear signs of food-related illness. The manager does not respond and refuses to acknowledge the problem, even though it affects many people. The hotel staff are extremely pushy and repeatedly ask for tips at every step, which creates a very uncomfortable atmosphere. The rooms look nice, but the cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. It’s hard to call this a pleasant stay when you spend most of your time close to the bathroom.

No as good as it claims to be
6.0At a first looks the place looks stunnning but after being there for a couple of days you realize that the matress is hard as a rock and the pillow very uncomfortable. The beach looks great but due to tide and seaweed you may have to walk a lot to take a dive. The beach chair are uncomfortable, the umbrella low and the feet washer even lower. The restaurant is ok but definitely lack local flavor (more local products prepared European way). The local staff was very attentive but communicating with them was often a problem even if you are speaking english and french. Overall not a bad place but nothing to be bragging about
