Breathe in the view

10.0

Beautiful accommodation on the edge of the valley looking directly at Tigers Nest monastery, perched on the clifftop amidst swirling mist. The rooms are clean, modern, well-equipped, and designed to frame that glorious view. Food is excellent and the staff wonderfully attentive. We couldn't see them but they were always there, just out of sight, ready to leap up and do whatever might be necessary to make our stay more comfortable. It is about 15 minutes out of Paro town and once you are there, it is peaceful, feels timeless, and there is nothing to do but breathe in that view.

Night of Horror

2.0

A Night of Horror We had booked this for 2 nights after going through the google reviews. I must say that this was one of the worst decisions we made as the service is pathetic. It was so bad that we actually have to call our travel agent and ask him to immediately book us 1 night somewhere else. Below are the highlights of our stay:  • 1) Location- Extremely bad, its quite far from main town, also the approach road to the hotel is not maintained and too narrow with severe bumps all over for a stretch of approx 2+ Km  • 2) Service - I would be lying if I say bad service. There was literally no service. We were locked inside the hotel with literally no one to attend to. We kept calling reception from 9 PM onwards until the morning about 7:30 AM, no one picked up the call. Morning we realised there was no one except us in the whole hotel in middle of Jungle, with no one to attend to any emergency or serving us with the basics.  • 3)Food- Since no one visits this hotel, mostly the food they serve is stale and old which gets heated and seved to guests. I had a severe acidity attack at night after food for which there was not a single person to help with even basics like water. Imagine a situation that can happen to anyone in your family at a remotest location with literally no one around. Extremely Sacry.  • 4)Breakfast- We were given Stale Aloo Paratha and watermelon thats it. Even Aloo Paratha came without basic like curd. We had to leave after having only one bite. see pictures attached.  • Basic Amenities- Basics like dental care, body wash, mug etc was never given to us and we cant even ask them because we were locked with not a single staff from hotel. see attached video. We have stayed all over world in different places and different accomodations including Budget stays like these, but have never come across service of this nature. Infact I was told that management has not trained us and we are doing what our management says. There was no senior person at the hotel and apparently the only person senior called Mr Namgay was on leave. My travel agent has been kind enough to immediately move us to a new hotel as soon as I spoke to him about this. I will certainly not recommend anyone to stay with family here even if its being given as free stay. Also we are planning to report this sham hotel to the Bhutanese Govt so they can review the licence of the hotel. We are giving detailed review so that others cant get into this trap.  • Being Unbiased view from room was good.
