Beautiful estate in the serene mountains of mussoorie with wonderful hosts and safe clean and quite surroundings. A homestay with all facilities with good connectivity from the center is a good option for family vacation.

We were a group of seven friends and spent 4 wonderful nights at Moonwind, and it truly felt like a home away from home. The property itself is beautifully maintained, spacious, and surrounded by tranquility – perfect for anyone looking to relax and unwind. What made our stay even more special were our gracious hosts, Lt. General Zameer Uddin Shah. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel incredibly welcome. You could tell the space was curated with love and care, and it reflected in every little detail. Highly recommend Moonwind to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with amazing hosts. We left with fond memories, It was such a beautiful experience!

See, not all vacations in the mountains are alike. Some are spent in tiny hotel rooms, then warmed up cars and lots of nothingness. If you want something different, you’ve got to book something different For the four of us, this homestay was exactly that. The Stars & The Sun: Outside of the main door (which is also glass) there is a staircase where you can sit and look at stars all night long. We saw constellations (never seen in the Mumbai/Delhi sky) and even our very first ever shooting stars. We all made wishes - and honestly, if you make a wish on a shooting star, it is a nice vacation! The balcony also offers a nice view of the sun setting against the mountains. The Rooms: The large living room and bedrooms are blessed with heaters and lots of blankets (though some of us were still shivering - if you’re from Mumbai we recommend bringing thermals and too many warm clothes) We loved how clean the bathrooms were (And we had a plumbing issue in one of them which was fixed by the owners in one day - instead of asking us to adjust) The decor and the warm heather glow make the home feel very much like out of a book. The Distance etc: The homestay is up a slightly steep hill (though you can take your car/ scooter up there) If travelling with older folks - check your accessibility etc. It is about 10 mins away from Library road, which we found to be a good distance since we had scooters. The property is also on the first floor so there will be some steps to climb. The Heat: We found the geysers to be a little different, and often could not figure out how to get them to work / or why the water wasn’t hot for long. If you need really hot water - we recommend checking first. The People: Our highlight though, were the people here. The homestay is owned by a lovely couple who invited us for tea and chat-chats - little did we know the conversation would be not only interesting, but also amazing.
