The Perfect blend of tradition and comfort - a true hidden gem

10.0

It was like stepping into a dream—only it was real, Omoya appears almost out of nowhere—a centuries-old farmhouse that, though new to us, felt instantly familiar, as if we were returning to a place we’d always known. There are no shops, no neon lights—only nature, layered upon nature. We spent two restorative nights here. The first evening, a cloudless sky turned the courtyard into a private planetarium. The next day brought rain, and it proved wonderfully soothing: the drops created a gentle white-noise rhythm that hushed every other sound, and the fresh petrichor—earth and cedar mingling in the cool air—made each breath feel revitalizing. Water slipped from the eaves, dripped through leaves, and joined the soft murmur of a nearby stream; every sense slowed to the pace of the mountains. Indoors, heritage meets convenience with quiet confidence. We tried both the Western beds and the futons on tatami—new to me after growing up abroad—and each was remarkably comfortable. It was also our child’s first futon night, and they slept straight through. A well-equipped kitchen made meals effortless, while the spotless, wood-scented bath was the perfect way to unwind after exploring. Every detail feels intentional yet unpretentious. Omoya gave us the rest we didn’t know we needed—a true refugio for the soul. We left refreshed, grateful, and already planning our return.

Nothing bad at all
