6.0Betty and Alcides are really nice people and very accommodating. The balcony faci g the forest is nice and we manage to see some parrots close to the end of the day.
− No hot water in the house. We had to go to another building for a hot shower. Kitchen facilities are a joke. We planned to cook on the 1st night because we had things from our previous stay with us but they are clear on prepared for guests cooki g in the house and they shouldn't have the facilities listed. We have agreed a price for breakfast and dinner with the owner via message prior to the stay and when we arrived they asked us for more money. We ended up paying additional 5 euros for dinner on our second night for rice and chickpeas. We have paid exactly the same amount for a 3 course dinner with wine in another hotel in the island. There's clearly a communication gap between the owner and those that manage the place and its overpriced for what they offer.

10.0Casa Mãe is a well-renovated house with two rooms, one living room, one bathroom, and two balconies with amazing views. From the front balcony every morning we could see thousands of beautiful butterflies and colorful birds and from the back balcony, the view is unique to the garden, fruit trees, and plants like vanilla or black pepper. We also can see the sea and the national park. The staff is very kind and the property is always very clean. Near is the Pousadinha Mar Ave Ilha which belongs to the same owner where we can spend time reading or watching more than 100 TV channels from all over the world. The local meals were also fantastic, especially the fresh fish and the octopus. I truly recommend Casa Mãe to other guests who want to have a peaceful time. Grade 10.
