The unit itself was very clean and well styled and presented with all the cooking and cleaning facilities to make the stay comfortable.

− 1 day before we were to fly out to go to our booked accommodation and after payment was taken, the manager of the unit Brandi informed us of major construction works on the roof of the facility with roof replacement works involving cranes and construction workers which would be there our entire stay, failed to also tell us that the unit next door also undergoing renovation repair works all of which required body corporation approval, council permit approvals, hiring of contractors, and notice to all affected unit owners, which Brandi claimed she was only made aware 12hrs before our flight to the accom. Brandi offered a full refund on the accom knowing we wouldn’t be able to find similar or any alternative accom atsuch short notice and we would loose all our money on flights if we cancelled our trip. No discounted rate offered or alternative accom, and when we experienced loud rachet drills, hammers etc going from 6am-2pm each day all day which significantly impacted mostly our unit which was located directly opposite the main roof access point for all the workers, with works undertaken directly above our roof and in the unit next door, she replied the other units she managed on lower floors had not mentioned such issues and took no accountability and showed no empathy. When I tried to call her on the phone listed on the email and business cards, the number seemed not to exist. We felt like we were backed into a corner she put us into without any attempt to offer a significantly discounted rate as compensation as is usual practice and could not offer another unit because all accommodation she managed was full booked as were other similar accom facilities nearby. I have never experienced this previously with other accommodation bookings. Very disappointing.

Overall the property has a lot to offer with the location, having underground secure parking, very clean and equipped kitchen, laundry facilities if needed, plenty of space within the apartment, not that we used it but a very nice community area and pool with bbq, the whole apartment is very clean and bright and enjoyable to stay in. Location is very good with lots of coffee, food, restaurants and shops right on your doorstep and everything the Strand has to offer.

− Really just personal preference but the bedroom could do with a roller blind rather than a slated blind to block out the light from the emergency exit light outside the bedroom window, a lamp or two would be nice rather than having the main lights on all the time in the evening, and personally I’d have the fridge door opening into the kitchen not the window, but this no way affects the stay at the apartment.

Location

− Room had not been serviced on arrival. Previous guests turned up looking for something they forgot, we had to let them in. Room was not serviced until sometime around 3pm, we were never notified that it was ready, we just returned around 4pm and it had been done. Balcony was dirty as was balcony furniture, bedding was lacking with a doona in cupboard but no cover on it. Dust on all upper surfaces. Communal toilets in lobby were not clean.
