Unreliable Host and bookings
1.0Nothing. Completely unreliable host.
− There was absolutely nothing that I could like. We confirmed our stay on the 5th of Jan 2026, paid for the accommodation. Received the confirmation email with pin and check in information. Only for the host to cancel our booking at 8pm on the 8th Jan. We were supposed to check in on the 9th Jan. The evening before we had to book in, leaving myself and my family stranded for the evening. The host allowed the current guests to extend their stay without checking to see if the unit was booked. The host said their traveling allowed for unchecked emails, which led to our distress. Instead of telling the guests who DID NOT have a booking that unfortunately the property was not available to extend their stay, my family was told at 8pm the evening before that we can not stay at the property. Whilst the fee was refunded, the host was unwilling to assist us with alternative accommodation, with the slight difference in cost being for the host's cost, since we were the ones completely inconvenienced. I ended up looking for accommodation, could not find any at a reasonable price and had two children crying and upset about not knowing where we were going to stay. Not only did the host ruin our last day of our summer holiday but our last evening and dinner as well, with the VERY LATE CANCELLATION!! Although an apology was sent there was absolutely no remorse or attempt to make right what the host had done wrong. In my opinion a host that can cancel a guest's reservation less that 24 hours on arrival cannot be trusted and booking.com should intervene in such circumstances. Completely unacceptable
