booked this place because i wanted to get away from the city and chill. really a typically japanese residence, the building itself is not that new but you can tell that it is really well taken care of because of how clean it was. i shared a room with another guest but the layout of the room and curtains ensured privacy. the bed was so comfortable i slept so well for 2 nights. the owners was really nice and friendly, and the ramen place they run (its near their house) served really good food!

Nette Besitzerin, sehr hilfsbereit. Ausreichend ausgestattete Küche. Gemütliche Betten (im Schlafsaal mit 2 Betten) mit eigenen Bereich davor, abgetrennt durch Vorhänge. Gegend nicht touristisch

− Lage etwas weit abseits, je nach dem, was man unternehmen möchte.

The host is really friendly. The room was spacious and had everything I needed. Is important to note that it is a room in someone home, but it is on the top floor. The entire top floor has been converted into a guest floor with a few rooms, bathroom, kitchen, living room. If you picture a hostel you'll have a great idea what to expect.

− Getting to the lodge, there is a very steep uphill. Like very steep. Even going down you feel it. If you have knee or hip problems, be aware. Also wear snug shoes because going down on the first day I didn't and my feet slipped around in my shoes and I hurt my toes. There is no public transport to the lodge so you have to walk it, or take a taxi, but the station is only about 10/15 minutes walk away. Although it was not truly dirty, it didn't seem like it's truly cleaned often. A few things in the kitchen were a bit sticky like they haven't been wiped down in a while. A few small things. The bathroom was totally clean, as was the room, so no complaint there.
