Pros and Cons of being in Prime OTR
7.0Very clean, well appointed, responsive host. Very good price. Convenient to the OTR and downtown - a 15 minute walk at most to everything.
− The downside of the convenience is how close it is to an outdoor night club that was dancing until 2am on a Thursday night. The host provides ear plugs and a white noise machine, but the noise was still audible and you felt the bass vibrations reverbing through your body. I have stayed at 5 private rentals through booking.com this year, and this host had the most in-depth pre-booking process and strict rules about the property, which I can totally respect, it's their property. The host has a 10p quiet hours, but I can't believe the city lets the noise go like that. Also (not in the host's control) the city collects trash and recycling on this street between 3a and 5a on Wednesday night and there are like 50 cans for all of the apartments, boom-boom-boom, waking us up. So while the apartment itself is comfortable, we got terrible sleep and negatively impacted our trip. I empathize with the host because these are out of their control - I wish I had known that this area was the prime nightlife district before we booked.
