5.0− We have just returned from our weekend stay in your caravan at Lyons Robin Hood from 12th to 14th June 2026, we found the caravan was left in an unacceptable condition and cleanliness of the accommodation upon our arrival. After arriving on Friday afternoon and beginning to unpack, it quickly became apparent that the caravan had not been properly cleaned or checked before our stay. The issues we discovered included: • Inside the freezer were numerous toothpicks that had been swept underneath the freezer door, along with crumbs and crumbs on top of the freezer compartment that were only visible when the door was opened. • Under one of the beds we found empty ice lolly wrappers and used tissues, which only became apparent when we were making the beds. • The air fryer contained food residue and grease from a previous guest’s use, indicating it had not been cleaned before our arrival. We felt uncomfortable using it as we had no idea how long the food remnants had been left there. • The draining board contained food stains, and when we moved the chopping board we discovered a thick stain underneath accompanied by a very unpleasant smell. • The toothbrush holder in the bathroom was covered in dried toothpaste and had clearly not been cleaned. • The cutlery tray contained crumbs and debris from previous use. • In the main bedroom, one drawer already contained clothing left behind by a previous occupant, while another contained a toenail clipping. The boiler does not have a cover on meaning you can see the naked flame, which is a hazard. Whether the responsibility lies with the owner, family members, friends, or a cleaning company employed on site, these standards are completely unacceptable. The caravan had clearly not been cleaned or inspected properly before our arrival. As a result, we had to leave the site to purchase cleaning products and spend Friday evening cleaning the caravan ourselves to make it suitable for our family to stay in.
