Safe and Bearable

The location was close to every place we need to go and the place was safe. The security system is effective, and the security guards were friendly.

− The apartment is not well maintained. The outside chairs where broken and the curtain rail felt while closing it.

The accommodation did not come with breakfast

− The continuous wait to access the main gate. Host would not answer his phone when security tried calling him. Apartment is infested with cockroaches. Was only in the apartment for an hour when we noticed the large amount of cockroaches in the kitchen and bedroom. Kid were terrified. Checked out immediately and went to another nearby Estate. Attached are photos taken at the apartment. Videos of the cockroaches are available as well.

Good location, close to restaurants and mall of Africa .

− Shower/bathroom is extremely small, 2nd bathroom is larger but has a tub with no shower. Not enough cutlery/utensils in the unit. No lace curtains in lounge or bedrooms, so no privacy from other units when curtains are open

Hosts were polite but horribly rude security staff and not the most comfortable stay.

Despite the Hosts themselves being attentive and nice, the stay itself was difficult.

− So many things. I do want to state the biggest issue first being the RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL security ladies at the gate. Coming in and out was always a mission. We started out with the check-in which when we got there at 4:00 pm still had a cleaner in the property. The lock boxes and the WIFI passwords were all incorrect which delayed entrance to the property. We hired 2 apartments - 1 of the apartments had no toilet seats which was wild and a broken lock on the balcony so the door could not be locked, which is a security risk. The second apartment had extremely hard beds to the point that the tenants in the second apartment got an additional Airbnb. Apart for these, it was livable but not worth the cost.

It was close to the shops and safe. We could get easy access to many shop options and also get trasport from the place easily.

− The apartments could have benefited from a more thorough cleaning upon our arrival. Additionally, we encountered some difficulties with access, as the security personnel were unable to grant us entry, mentioning that they were unable to reach the host by phone.
