The A/C was great, the location was nice close to everything customer service was great bed was comfy

− Upon arrival strong odor of dog urine, loud dog barking continuously, stained couch, vines growing from behind washer and dryer, dirty shower curtains dirty rug in bedroom..had to clean to get rid of odor mold on ceiling stained pillows in bedroom

Location was great, very close to the beach and many different food/shopping options in the area. There are plenty of bath towels, beach towels, beach chairs, etc available to use. They provided extra toilet paper, laundry pods, trash bags, etc which is very convenient for a shorter stay. The owner was very responsive when we ran into an issue and found a quick solution!

− We were disappointed with the cleanliness of the place. The first thing we noticed were the sheets, covered in several black/brown stains and a lot of dog hair. We removed them and put them in the wash and a lot of it came out, which left us wondering whether they had actually been cleaned in the first place. There was also no mattress protector, very odd in my opinion in a rental... SO much humidity in the home... I get it, it's a beach house, but so much so that we realized there was a lot of mold growing on the bedroom ceiling that someone had attempted (and failed) to scrub away. One of the base boards in the bathroom was very dirty. The shower curtain had a bunch of orange mold on it... a bit of bleach and that stuff should come right out. There's no dishwasher, which is fine, but several of the dishes I tried to use were improperly washed and I ended up having to rewash. All in all the only issue we reported to the owner was the sheets. She was extremely responsive and offered to have the cleaners come back. We declined the cleaners (it's of my opinion that a 9.6/10 rated house shouldn't need to have a second pass at cleaning, especially given the above list, it didn't feel like a one off miss) but she did have a new set of sheets dropped off at our door step very quickly which we appreciated. Unfortunately, I didn't realize the place didn't have a Booking rating yet but rather used the Airbnb rating times 2 to get it on a scale of 10. This isn't the owners fault but still feels misleading given the airbnb scale is strict (anything under 5/5 is considered a negative review) where as the Booking scale is much more lenient (a Booking 8/10 is still a great place).
