10.0Absolutely perfect for a weekend riding the Capital Trail. The trail is literally across the street from the property. It is also located at the halfway point of the trail. It made for easy 50ish mile rides to Jamestown and back to the house one day, then 50ish to Richmond and back the next day. The kitchen was completely stocked. We were able to cook all of our meals and heat water for tea later. We enjoyed the ride enough to book the property again for next month.
− Having an exterior 15/20 amp outlet would have been great for EV trickle charging. But I knew that ahead of time. There are chargers in Hopewell that are super close, and also in Petersburg if you're coming from the south.
Cabin in the woods was very enjoyable and a GREAT value. Drive to Richmond sites in 25 minutes.
8.0This rental house was just what I hoped for. The cabin feeling let me not mind that the floor slanted downward as I entered the kitchen because I so enjoyed the clean and new appliances, laundry, and value! Dining room with table and chairs to seat 6. AC worked perfectly. Property was listed as dog friendly-There is NO musty mold or animal smell. Wooded area surrounding is pretty. Room for 2 cars to park. The complimentary granola bars and pouches to snack on when we arrived were a Godsend appreciated by travelers arriving late in the evening. The bike path across the street is 50 miles of beautifully paved surface and will be a lovely activity when the temperature is not 97F.
− During day road sound from trucks on road pavement 30 feet in front of the house was noticeable. During the night there was minimal traffic. Foam bed mattress in first bedroom is new, but softer than I like. Back bedroom had few plugs, consider bringing an extension cord.
