9.0Location was the best. Walking distance to all local night life. felt safe and secure. Will stay again.
− the check in process of retrieving the key fob was not successful but the Host arrived within 5 min. and retrieved a fob for me.
Lareama's Coffee House, is a gem and reflects that same type of Urban/Country--Intersectionality.
9.0I'm calling this place "Eclectic Soul." There was an underlying "Black - Urban - Artist" vibe to this place, which made it feel like you were at the intersection of a "Detroit," and a "Richmond." Being a Detroit native, and seeing how older buildings are renovated, this place gave you a feeling like you were dwelling in an open bubble which had a deeper "Activist - Oriented - Historical" context to it. An added plus was the train which travels right outside the building, giving you that feeling that whatever direction, it was heading in (towards other Cities)--those places are far away and much different from Rocky Mount, NC--map-wise, but no different at all --and more similar, when it comes to the overall systemic reality of "The Struggle." If you took a line and drew it extending from the side of a box, which represented "Chicago PD (the TV Series)" and extended that line across to and into another box which represented "In the Heat of the Night (the TV Series)," the middle of that connecting line would be "Rocky Mount - The Davis Lofts at Main Street," if that makes sense. − Upon arrival, it appeared that the sheets were not cleaned so we washed them. There was a washer and dryer in the unit, so this was not an issue. There was no silverware nor eating utensils, however I'm uncertain if that's standard practice for Air B&B. There were two bugs that I saw during our entire stay there. One spider, and one "Daddy-long legs." Here's the thing though, if this makes sense. I didn't even kill the bugs. It was as if they were chilling and not bothering anyone, and looking at this from a broader vantage point, the building appears to have a feel of being over 100 years old. Seeing only two bugs, and not anything else--was a 'plus,' to me. So, we (us and those two insects) co-existed--and it was cool. Sincerely, James and Iris
